Jesus pleaded with the religious in Matthew 7 to be more than merely religious. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you.”
Christopher Columbus and Ferdinand Magellan. Lewis and Clark and Edmund Hillary. Explorers over time have had a burning desire to find what is beyond the horizon. To conquer the obstacles encountered during exploration and chart new territory. They sought and they found.
There are many Christians in our communities that are seeking to follow Christ as best as they can. They have a fundamental belief in God and are following God’s commandments to the best of their ability. Their moral compass sets them apart from the depraved sinner. They live according to a certain Godly standard that they feel God is pleased with.
Nevertheless, Jesus implores these ones to go further in their experience with God. Jesus wants you to see what is on the other side of the mountain and not be satisfied with your current experience. Something better is out there!
I John 1:7 explains, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Freedom from sin is the crowning achievement that Jesus wants all of mankind to experience. This is what awaits you on the other side of the mountain. To no longer live in sin but to receive the pinnacle experience He wants for you– a life of victory and true satisfaction.
Christopher Columbus, after he discovered a direct western route from Europe to America, said, “Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World.” Many today do not realize there is something better out there. A better life, a grander experience with God. What is required is leaving the old life and turning your face towards the Truth.
Do you desire to know more about the full benefits you can receive by coming to the God’s family – the Church of God? Why continue with the status-quo when something better is waiting?
“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
