In the last days…

Written by Alexandria Irwin

There are many predictions in the Bible about the last days of time, but one thing it does not say is when time will end. “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.“ Matthew 24:36 The signs of the times listed in the Word, however, are now becoming more prevalent than ever.  We can see from this that soon, Christ will take His church home to heaven.

The Bible also uses the time of midnight to symbolize His second coming. One parable told of five wise virgins who were ready for their bridegroom when he came, but it also told of five foolish virgins who turned up sadly unprepared. The clock is slowly ticking towards this time even now.

So what should Christians do in these last days of time? The most important thing is to be sure that we are ready. This is no time to be a sleepy Christian, or to become careless in our walk with God. II Peter 3:11-12 asks “What manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God?” A seriousness when it comes to our spiritual life is essential.

It is also time to spread the gospel to the nations.  Our message becomes more urgent as time draws to a close.

Now more than ever before, God’s true people can shine brighter and brighter in this evil world. We can be the gospel light that the world needs while there is still a chance. If we do these things, we’ll have much to look forward to when our Father brings us to our heavenly home.
